The Essence of Evil is Progressivism

In America today Christians are not taught the essence of evil in our churches. Ministers need to better equip the body of Christ to combat evil influences in the public square. We must learn that evil is attacking us, but it hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed (John 3:20). The reason shepherds are failing may be their naivety or they do not want to teach the conflict side of Christianity. This is the side where Christ’s bold peacemakers stand in the gap between darkness and light and confront evil. This is learning how to be a Christ filled Joshua in the valley fighting the Amalekites, while Moses was praying, (Exodus 17).

Disciples to be effective Joshua’s, need to be taught the undeniable substance of evil in order to confront it. Evil is always pursuing power and control over mankind. This is the agenda of evil people, and evil political principalities alike. They carry out Satan’s business by sponsoring immorality and a liberty-less government. In the Old Testament evil was called many names such as Beelzebub, the Lord of Flies or identified as evil governments such as the Ammonites. Today evil ideologies are represented by words like progressivism and liberalism. However their driving political force today in America is not the Ammonites, it is the Democrat Party.

History proves the wickedest and most violent sustained evil against humans is political power. Satan has used political power to dominate and kill millions upon millions of people since the beginning of time. Today, progressive political entities will say and do whatever is necessary to gain more power. They have proven to be shameless, and use every bit of political influence at their disposal to force an illicit agenda on America to destroy our liberty and freedom. The progressive political agenda today encapsulates every illicit self-serving act known to man, including the satanic murder of the unborn.

The Democrat Party today is godless by their own admission. They are the single greatest threat to our constitutional Bill of Rights, and they have a radical contempt and hate for the 1st Amendment. They use their political power to punish anyone who does not adhere and bow to their radical agenda. Isaiah 59:15 tells us what happens when evil prevails. “Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes its prey.” This is why Christians are the prey of the progressive agenda today.

Christ identifies the essence of evil in John 8:44. He told the Jewish hierarchy, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Christ is telling us between being a liar and a murderer there is nothing evil is not capable of doing. Evil will use any means possible to get what evil desires. For evil, the end always justifies the means.

One of the best characterizations of evil humans is in Romans 1:28-32, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; …untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”

Then how are we stand against evil? Disciples are to use the most powerful entity on earth, the spoken word of God that now dwells within us as the Holy Spirit of God.  Christ was the Word of God that became flesh and dwelt among us. He now sits at the right hand side of God and the Holy Spirit now dwells within us. Every Christian fighting evil needs to be armed with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and speak the biblical word of God into the darkness of mankind. Disciples are commanded in Acts 1:8 to witness Christ’s truth into the world and God promised the power of the Holy Spirit will intercede for us.

Then how should we identify evil? In Proverbs 6:16-19 God hates seven evil things humans do: “God hates the blatantly and disdainfully proud, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, a false witness, and one who spreads strife among brothers.” Notice three out of the seven come out of an evil person’s mouth: lying, false witness, and spreading strife. Then the worst evil is shedding innocent blood!

There is no doubt when we experience the essence of evil it will be more extreme and violent than our imagination can comprehend. One constant is evil’s extreme arrogance. We can count on it because evil never takes responsibility for wrongs committed. A good sample of today’s evil is progressives want us to believe there is no fraud in America’s election system, but this same evil wants us to believe men and women can change their sex. When confronted with their obvious lies they implement the art of the dodge, and never admit the obvious. This is the hypocrisy and duplicity of evil’s volitional lying, false witness, and spreading strife. It is on display daily, and defines perdition’s motive to gain psychological power and control over others.

The essence of evil seeks to gain control by creating an illusion of truth like Satan did to Eve. They repeat their falsehoods in as many ways as possible because evil knows when people in authority repeat a lie over and over, the lies appear truer. This is why talking heads in media and political entities are seen repeating the lie almost word for word on as many media venues as possible.

Therefore, never forget: The essence of evil focuses on what is not clearly known to create an illusion of truth that supplants and usurps the knowledge of Christ’s truth. This is the reason shepherds need to teach Christians what is not clearly known about today’s evil devices and methods. This includes every public evil, even the most dangerous political evils. Nothing can be beyond Christ’s influence.

What are the signs of the essence of evil?

The signs of evil are many, but first and foremost it should be written in stone that evil doesn’t care about its victims. Evil is a predator just like a mountain lion. The lion doesn’t have remorse for the deer it kills. Humans who are consumed with evil likewise may not have remorse. This enables them to be habitually dishonest, without conscience.

Today we are surrounded by evil political principalities. The essence of evil principalities is always--and I mean always--to oppress the citizenry to insure dominance, and continued existence. Their main goal is to use the lie to increase fear in the citizenry to insure oppression of thought and speech. This enables evil to sponsor illiteracy through controlling what is publicly heard. Their goal is always controlling the press, mandatory indoctrination in education, and suppression of religious freedoms to name a few. All of these goals deprive the multitudes of truth, while covering their wickedness, and limiting the liberty of independent thought. This is living proof Satan only comes “to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10).

These illicit goals enhance the recognition of ignorance as strength, absolute obedience to government as equality, and diversity. Totalitarianism is then sold to insure security.  When in reality ignorance is dangerous false knowledge. Obedience to their demands is slavery, and totalitarianism is tyranny. Notice none of evil’s political goals contain Christ’s liberty which shaped America’s Declaration of Independence.

God has warned us about these evil people. He said “…those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter and who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight.” Their goal for America is a country without Christ. Isaiah 8:22 tells the result without Christ: “if one looks at the land, there is only darkness and distress; even the sun will be darkened by clouds.”

Therefore to effectively stand against evil we must know evil’s devices, define evil in modern terms, and know evil will strike back like a roaring lion. However, we must stay the course because Christ gave us the spirit of truth, which is the “…words and wisdom that none of our adversaries will be able to resist or contradict” (Luke 21:15). This is because God’s words do not “come back void” (Isaiah 55:11). Our greatest means of discouraging evil is speaking the word of God with the power of the Holy Spirit of truth. Evil is forced to hide when Christians expose it, rise up, and confront it with the bold truth of Christ. So put on the full armor of God and boldly speak God’s spiritual truth into evil in as many ways and avenues as possible (Ephesians 6) so the Holy Spirit can do the work that God commands.

Amen, and Amen
